Our Mission

Having enjoyed welsh ponies in our youth, we thought what could be a more worthy endeavor than to make and shape the future of children’s memories with ponies.  Lara grew up in England, and as a young child spent many splendid days riding ponies, including Welsh ponies, across the beautiful countryside.  Now as adults we still love riding and being around them everyday.  Welsh ponies can be a lifelong joy.  Lara and I, who through these wonderful ponies became friends, can personally attest to that!  So we sought out to be a select producer of some of the best welsh ponies in this country and beyond.  We thought very hard about what specific Section B’s to use in our program.  Ponies that can go to the supreme level in the show ring yet also possess intrinsic qualities such as disposition and intelligence.  Those extra attributes turn a beautiful pony into that dream pony with a heart of gold that is a pleasure and a privilege to own.  Firstly, we wanted proven tried and true bloodlines; because we’ve seen over and over that blood tells.  We didn’t limit our selection to American bred but also searched international borders looking and finding the most wonderful ponies on the planet.  Our string of mares is indeed an all-star cast.  As if by magic, our partnership and mission for our breeding farms started to materialize.  Paramount to our venture was our selection of Rollingwoods L to Pay as our premier stallion.  His sire, the incomparable Sleight of Hand, so potent in stamping quality and movement to his offspring, is one of the most influential stallions in the world today.  We are thrilled to have Rollingwoods L to Pay standing and are eternally grateful to Mike Maxwell and the Laffin family for giving us this opportunity.  He fills and illuminates every corner here at Heritage Welsh Ponies!  As you peruse these pages, I hope our enthusiasm and dedication will shine through.  Enjoy! --

Lara's farm is home of the Trevethan Prefix.  She grew up in England and visits her family and friends who still live there as often as possible.  She resides in South Eastern Wisconsin with her loving husband Ray and their beautiful daughter Chloe.

Kathy's farm is home of the Llanhaven Prefix.  Also having relatives in the U.K. (Scotland), she is married to Dan, her own true Welshman, for over twenty years. She lives in Newark Township, Wisconsin with her wonderful family and much loved ponies!
